Do’s and Don’ts of using images online

As part of my freelance work with the Dingle Peninsula Tourism Alliance, I was regularly contacted by one of its 100+ members, looking for digital/social media advice.

On one occasion a local restaurant owner contacted me. She had a problem. A company representing a photographer, had tracked down a photo she had used on her website, without permission. Long story short, her original web developer (a son of a son, of a neighbours friend kind of thing), had lifted the photo off the web, and hadn’t thought to ask permission. The wild whest days of the internet, when no-one asked permission. she ended up having to pay over €500 in back payment fees, or risk being taken to court.

So, I developed this little infographic, and had it sent round to all the members of the DPTA.
